Position: Logistics Coordinator - Norcross, GA

The Norcross, GA branch is looking to fill the position of Logistics Coordinator.  This hourly position is a supportive role to our Logistics Manager and will assist in the safe transportation of product.


Key Responsibilities:

Managing material at third party location 

  • Oversee load building and pickup appointments
  • Monitor pickups to make sure they are completed
  • Arrange urgent shipments for sales and purchasing
  • Follow up on purchase orders for sales
  • Work with third party sales department to schedule loads expedited from the branches 

Managing Import Shipments

  • Coordinate loads in the most cost-efficient manner
  • Schedule pickups
  • Send all appropriate paperwork to receiving branches
  • Approve charges and invoices for port loading charges
  • Arrange urgent shipments for sales and purchasing
  • Follow up on purchase orders for sales and branches
  • Manage cost for routes that exceed normal cost structure
  • Work with accounting to resolve past due invoices
    • Loads not received in system
    • Partial loads left at port
    • Shipments not received
  • Set up and coordinate urgent shipments for sales
  • Work with third party logistics to correct inaccurate data being entered in system from branch
  • Obtain freight rate quotes for sales
  • Communicate with sales delivery due dates
  • Resolve issues between sales and third party logistics 
  • Expediting delivery appointments at the branches


Key Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in logistics preferred
  • College degree in related discipline preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Customer service experience
  • High level of organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
