Process Improvement Specialist - U.S.
Marmon Keystone is looking for a full-time Process Improvement Specialist to develop, implement and execute an action plan for lean process improvement while working with operation managers to identify, develop and implement continuous improvement projects, continuously improving safety, distributing processes and efficiencies, cost reductions, and improve overall product quality.
This position can be located at any of our larger warehouses in Pomona CA, Spring Valley, IL, Atlanta, GA or E. Butler, PA.
Job Duties Include:
Observe shop floor operations / procedures to help establish a current condition, present to the operations, surface problems and develop a target state with actions and measures.
Use Visual Management, 80/20 Principles and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities for improved safety, cost reduction programs, waste reduction, quality improvement and productivity improvement programs
Track improvements, efficiency and cost reduction.
Effectively communicate necessary information to keep all stakeholders informed of progress, achievement of targets, and to resolve issues
Prepare necessary reporting by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data trends.
Post and communicate data in the Service Centers to help track progress. Additionally, provide data for OPS Mgr/GM MRD reports.
Promote visibility by being an effective coach to all employees (shop floor to leadership); be accessible and available to coach at all levels in the service center through all aspects of the lean implementation process.
Ability to clearly articulate purpose for events, rationalize cost / productivity improvements while ensuring events stay on track / task.
Conduct audits to ensure compliance with goals and initiatives
Travel within the U.S. 80%
5 -8 years’ experience in process improvement preferable in distribution or a manufacturing environment
Process Engineering background a plus
Lean and Project Management Experience
Experience in safety activities as it relates to operations and OSHA compliance
Must be willing to travel at least 80%
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel
